Bruna Girvent
Researcher and Engineer | PhD in Neurotech
I spent over a decade developing the technology that gave Stephen Hawking a voice. Now, I’m back home in Barcelona to help amplify the ones right here.

After 13 years in the US, from a PhD in Boston to a research career at Intel in Silicon Valley, I’ve returned to apply what I’ve learned about AI, Brain–Computer Interfaces, and human-centric design to our local community. My work has always revolved around the brain: from pioneering AI-driven systems that translate brainwaves into words, to supporting the collaborative spaces where connection and innovation actually happen.
I’m here to share that experience, whether through teaching, technical advisory, public speaking, or creating the initiatives that help our tech and creative sectors move forward together.
Listen to my story where I talk about brainwaves, Silicon Valley, Stephen Hawking, and my return to Barcelona
